National Shrine of The Divine Mercy
Our Lady of Lourdes Novena
February 2 - 10
Feast Day: February 11
“I am the Immaculate Conception,” said Our Lady when she appeared to 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous near Lourdes, France, in 1858.
Our Lady asked Bernadette to dig in the ground and drink from the spring that would appear there. This water also was given to ailing pilgrims, and numerous healings were reported. As a Church-approved Marian apparition site, Lourdes now receives millions of pilgrims from around the world.
The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes was designated by Pope John Paul II as the “World Day of the Sick,” calling the faithful to pray for those who are sick.
The Marians, who are dedicated to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of the Immaculate Conception, will celebrate the Our Lady of Lourdes Healing Novena at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy.
You can remember someone in need of healing by sending the Marians your special intention.
St. Valentine Novena
February 5 - 13
Feast Day: February 14
We have an extraordinary example in Saint Valentine. As a 3rd century priest in Rome, Saint Valentine and his fellow Catholics lived in danger under the rule of Claudius II, who persecuted Christians. Saint Valentine visited prisoners, spreading the Word of God to them. He himself was imprisoned and martyred for his faith, for his love of God and the Church.
The Marians invite you to use this time to avail yourself of the graces that the Lord has prepared for you with this Novena.
You may send your special intentions to be remembered in our St. Valentine Novena of Masses. You also may pray along with the same prayer offered by the Marians at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy.
